William Kentridge did some amazing work. There was an exhibition here in Chicago of the artwork that he made for his films. Lots of large charcoal drawings that he hand-manipulated for the effects in the films. Great stuff.

yeah, the exhibit that was just at the sf moma was also stunning. his “ubu tells the truth” animation is as powerful as ever (and very relevant to the problems americans are facing with bush’s torture program). it was a pleasure to see it again.
