houellebecq-ueian too, i suppose... i loved platform's speculation on genetic immortality and technology exclusively focused on dislocated, abstract pleasure and stimulus... but the real question is, if a thoughtful, soulless oracle refers back to it's inquirers as the deity it's supposed to be linking to, what the fuck does that make of google's consumers? talk about spiritual narcissism...

shockwave rider - i'm 5 pages from the end!! Brunner was/is unbelievable. written in '75 i think.... cant believe Gibson gets kudos for birthing 'cyberpunk'. he even lifts the narrative structure from Brunner (alternating chapters dedicated to 2 groups distanced in space & time who eventually overlap by climax of novel).
in fact, a lot of Shockwave Rider's major structures have been reiterated in contemp 'man vs. The (digitized) System' fiction & film --- i'm convinced Brunner is long overdue for a kind of renewed relevance & popularity. prescience in full effect!

"By the grace of Google"
"Google is that thoughtful, soulless oracle.”
Nothing wrong here...errr?

Its kinda like when a dancehall MC replaces "God" in their song with your name for a battle dubplate, right?

Bad joke? Redundant?
